Been coming here for over 30 years, staff are so polite, very warm and friendly atmosphere. Ideal for functions, family events, food is top notch and reasonably priced.

A cozy hotel right next to the train station in Stonehaven. Absolutely suitable for a one-night stopover during a trip. There is a large pub on the ground floor, but its customers did not disturb the atmosphere in the room. The rooms are small, there is no place to spread out large luggage, but it is enough for a one-night stay. The shared toilets and showers (only on the second floor) are spacious and pretty clean. The breakfast served in a pleasant environment was very tasty and there was an opportunity to choose from a rich breakfast menu. Overall, the good impression was enhanced by the friendly staff, so everything was OK for me. - the rooms are only on the first and second floors and they do not even have a small elevator, so if you have heavy luggage, you will struggle when you have to carry it up the stairs - if someone comes here for the first time, it is more difficult to find the entrance to the reception (around the corner off the main street), because it is not well marked. I entered the pub through the service entrance because at first glance I didn't see any other.
Exceptionally clean. Polite and friendly staff. We only had breakfast here. Likely one of the best bacon sandwiches I've ever had with the bonus of them adding in a slice of black pudding at my request, french toast the second morning which was also excellent.
Lovely scampi and chips and the pint of Guinness was perfect. Recommend for aome great quality pub grub

stayed here it was so nice staff are very helpful and polite rooms were very clean and beds were very comfortable best couple nights sleep i had in a long time bar is reasonable price and breakfast was cooked to perfection highly recommend
Im actually just posting a review for having lunch here with my friend today. We both had fish and chips, and I have to say that’s probably the best bettered fish I’ve ever had. Chips were also superb. Absolutely fantastic, will definitely be back and highly recommend. Staff were also great, main barman (think he’s perhaps the owner) had good crack and the staff were so nice. Seemed to have been recently renovated and was busy.
